#19 Holiday Flags

Today's sketch comes from June 2014:

At first, I had no idea with to do with this sketch. But then, I stumbled upon a few pieces of pattern paper that included this little flags. I simply fussy cut these flags to create the card. It's a busy card, but I really enjoy this one.

#18 Hexagon Holiday

Today's sketch comes from September 2013:

Another card using a ton of scrap papers from my box. I based my entire card off of the piece of floral DSP I found. I can't remember the name of the paper pack, but I know it's at least 4 years old (probably more). In the end, I really like this pink and green Christmas card.

#17 Mint and Melon

Today's sketch comes from December 2016:

Here's what I originally did:

Can you tell I love polka dots? I really really do. Thankfully I found some great polka dot papers in my scrap box to use for today's card. I also rediscovered some glimmer paper in the bottom of the the box. Yeah for a super fun polka-dotted sparkly card!

#16 Merry Layers

Today's sketch comes from July 2016:

Here's what I originally did:

I love all the great patterns in the Be Merry DSP pack, so this was the perfect sketch to choose a ton of patterns and layer them. I added a simple sentiment with great stitching. For embellishments, I added the very versatile White Enamel Shapes and a piece of retired ribbon. The Gumball Green ribbon is a different color, but I love how it plays off the Garden Green in the paper.

#14 Glitter Reindeer

Today's sketch comes from March 2017:

Here's what I originally did:

I wanted to do a Christmas card in non-traditional colors, and somehow I ended up with a fun pink, green, and gray Reindeer card filled with some sparkle. I layered on a few pieces of DSP and found a stray piece of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper at the bottom of my scrap box. Perfect to add that little bit of interest I wanted for the card. For my stamped image, I went with a Smoky Slate reindeer so I could overlay my sentiment in a darker color (in this case Berry Burst to sorta coordinate with the glimmer paper). As a last touch, I added a few Glitter Enamel Shapes as antler ornaments.

#13 Repeating Reindeer

Today's sketch comes from October 2013:

After pulling some interesting pattern papers to use as a base, I decided to play with my Merry Mistletoe stamp set and create a focal point. I layered some pieces, added a sentiment, and finished off the card with some gold foil washi tape.

#12 Merry and Bright

Today's sketch comes from December 2013:

This card is all about nontraditional card making pieces. I have a ton of Project Life cards I use for my scrapbooking. I love the 2x3 and 4x6 cards, but some times kits come with square cards. I just don't really use that shape and size for scrapbooking, but they are perfect for greeting cards. I found three fun squares for this sketch. I ended up cutting my squares down a bit to give some better porportions, but other than that, it was a layer and glue kind of card.

#11 Silver Bells

Today's sketch comes from September 2016:

Here's what I originally did:

As a part of my challenge this month, I pulled out a ton of random scraps and created color story piles to help lessen my decision paralysis. For this card, I pulled from my silver and blue color story pile. I found a ton of great little pieces of scrap paper. It was just a material finding pieces that worked together. From the big pile I found all the pieces for this simple Christmas card.

#10 Bit of Sparkle

Today's sketch comes from January 2014:

I pulled an entire sheet of scrapbook stickers from my random box. This cute banner sentiment was perfect for today's card sketch. I layered it onto a piece of kraft paper and a scrap piece of polka dot paper. I layered my pieces but realized I was still missing something. Red glitter washi tape was the perfect finishing touch!
