Simple Reindeer

Candles Galore

Today's card is all about featuring the beautiful bold stamps from the Merry Patterns stamp set. I decided to let the stamps shine and only add some background DSP for color.

Falling Snowflakes

I went simple with today's card focusing on stamping instead of techniques or layering. I started with my sentiment and then added the falling snowflakes around it. I love the layered stamping. To finish off the card, I added a strip of ribbon and a layer of DSP.

Merry Mittens

For this card, I wanted to use the sentiment mitten from Smitten Mittens. Unfortunately I realized that my Cherry Cobbler ink pad needs to be reinked. I managed to get a decently saturated image for this card, but I need to add reinking to my to-do list this week. I can't survive Christmas without Cherry Cobbler. It's hands-down my favorite Christmas color. After stamping, I had a die cut mitten to complete the pair and then started added DSP layers. I finished off the card with a piece of retired Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

A Pair of Mittens

For this card, I CASEd this great card from Cindy Lee Bee Designs. These mittens are so much fun! And I love the repeating mitten pattern in the DSP piece. But my absolute favorite part of the card is the Cable Knit Embossed piece. Love love love the texture!

#16 Merry Layers

Today's sketch comes from July 2016:

Here's what I originally did:

I love all the great patterns in the Be Merry DSP pack, so this was the perfect sketch to choose a ton of patterns and layer them. I added a simple sentiment with great stitching. For embellishments, I added the very versatile White Enamel Shapes and a piece of retired ribbon. The Gumball Green ribbon is a different color, but I love how it plays off the Garden Green in the paper.

  • Stamps: Better Together
  • Inks: Garden Green
  • Cardstock: Be Merry DSP; Cherry Cobbler; Whisper White
  • Accessories: White Enamel Shapes; Gumball Green Ribbon (retired)

#1 Merry Reindeer

Today's sketch comes from June 2016.

And here was my original submission for the sketch:

On to my reimagined Christmas card... I flipped the card onto it's side after realizing the pieces I wanted to include wouldn't quite fit vertically. Once I realigned my thinking, I got to stamping and cutting! I love my new little reindeer stamp! He's just so cute! For this card, I stamped him in Black, layered some trees in Old Olive, and (hard to see in the picture) added some sparkle with Wink of Stella.

  • Inks: Basic Black; Cherry Cobbler; Old Olive
  • Cardstock: Be Merry DSP; Merry Music DSP; Old Olive; Whisper White
