Odds and Ends

Here's my randomness for the week:

• My short list TBR is all in a jumble right now. I need to get that set right this weekend.

• Less than one week until our Kansas road trip. I’m super excited for a break from our usual routine for a few days.

• Speaking of, I need to make our snack list. I see a trip to Trader Joe’s in my future.

• Getting the retreat planned (so much fun!) and starting on planning our July Indiana trip. Lots of trip planning.

• The temperatures can go back down a bit. Highs in the upper 90s this week was not fun.

• How am I so excited about a coop field day? I hated field day in school. Oh yeah, we are planning a fun relaxed day full of cooperative games not the terrible competition and stress that I experienced in school.

• The weather has finally gotten good enough to put our patio furniture out. We read our read aloud outside yesterday. Loved it!

• Starting a brick of a book three days before it’s due was not the best decision. Think I can knock it out?

• People’s inability to understand simple statements is boggling sometimes. Seriously, not sure how I can be more clear…

• I finished planning our Kansas road trip for next month. Now on to working on the retreat and Indiana summer trips.

• J is gone on a work trip this week (first time since before the pandemic) and it’s kinda nice having some time to myself.

• I’ve watched more television than usual, but I guess I’m just making up for lost time.

• I really don’t want to read the book club book, but feel like I have to…

• Thinking I need more contemporary romance next.

• Maybe plan a Lincoln excursion for next week?

• Middle Grade March was a great idea. I read some great ones.

• Starting planning the retreat for June and I’m getting so excited!

Here's my randomness for the week:

• I just figured out how to combine multiple curriculums together for Quentin. Now I need to start working on Arthur’s stuff.

• Thinking it’s survey time for the coop. Working on the topics and questions this week.

• Somehow dinner last night was a disaster. The rolls burned and the pork roast turned out incredibly dry. I gave up and we got takeout.

• Added five shirts to my spring and summer wardrobe. Finally.

• Unexpectedly warm temperatures this week meant that we spent almost all Tuesday outside.

• Really need to reschedule our zoo day.

• Trying to organize my itinerary for my birthday day out. I might have too many stops on my list.

• Speaking of, I’m really hoping that I can squeeze in some clothes shopping.

• I’ve finished 4 books in like 5 days. Crazy reading lately!

Here's my randomness for the week:

• The temperatures are all over the place this week. It’s currently about 10 degrees but is supposed to be 60 degrees tomorrow afternoon. Wild times in the Midwest.

• I forgot how much I loved Just One Damned Thing After Another

• 90s Music Bingo is just amazing. I definitely needed that last night. Very excited that they are repeating Musicals Bingo in late March.

• Picking up 70 library books at one time is a challenge when you have three bags and two kids. I ended up carrying them all. 70 books are heavy.

• Coop is such chaos some weeks, but is still great.

Here's my randomness for the week:

• One last coop to teach for the (hopefully) semester. I taught the first four weeks of the spring semester and I’ve going to relish taking the b real.

• About 25% of the way through Cloud Cuckoo Land and it’s oh so good! I just want to curl up and read for the entire day.

• The big winter storm missed us, but it has been super cold the past few days.

• We have an early morning to switch out the library books before driving to coop. I hate early mornings.

• We’ve been out and about multiple days this week. I am thoroughly peopled out.

• Took the opportunity to replace most of my socks this week. Funny how the little things make me happy.

• Caramel lava cakes are delightful. That’s all.

• Thinking about dyeing my hair for my birthday. Maybe?

Here's my randomness for the week:

• A scary storm rolled through yesterday. There was a tornado that touched down about 10 miles from here, but it was pretty incomplete and didn’t do any major damage.

• Our last coop meeting is this morning. We’re going to miss our friends over the Christmas break.

• Squeezing in a few more holiday activities before Christmas.

• Packing for our travel next week… So many things to remember and I need to make a master list.

• Tried some whiskey cheddar cheese from Aldi’s and it was terrible. Oh well, at least it was cheap. We try some and we lose some, but it’s always an adventure with picks from Aldi’s.

• Getting the holiday romance ball rolling already this month! I love how I end the year’s reading.

• I need to start thinking about next semester.

• All cooking motivation has really left me this season. I need to get my mojo back.

• I had not made a single Christmas card. I am so behind this year!

• My November reading is going to be much lower than usual I think. Too many other projects.

• Debating about taking a “sick” day from homeschool next week… maybe I can get some things done around here.

• Changes are coming to my homeschool coop and I’m very optimistic about them.

• But… it would really be nice if the current families could fill out the survey. Seriously, I gave them two weeks and have reminded them every three days. I still have 5 families outstanding. Very annoying.

• Getting excited about my cheesy Christmas-themed romances for December’s TBR.

• I really love learning about dinosaurs. So glad that’s the boys’ current obsession.

• Double book club meetings this week. So much book talk!

• Here’s hoping that we get out to the state parks a few more times before the year ends.

• Oh the tv show Foundation is so good. I don’t want the season to end.

• Getting a bit nervous about the all the tasks I have to prep for the retreat the end of the month.

• Our first STEAM coop is today! I’m so excited, but a little worried. Hope everything goes well.

• After one night of beautiful, cool, open window weather, we are back to very warm temperatures. I’m not loving this at all.

• I need to bake more, but the heat is really impeding my motivation…

• Joined a literary society and it’s been lovely talking books with other like-minded folks every few weeks.

• The heat is terrible again. I’m not a fan at all…

• I’m in a weird reading rut. I’ve read some decent books lately but nothing has really grabbed me.

• Multiple field trips in one week has drained my energy levels.

• I’m a bit nervous for the first week of coop. I have my lesson prepped, but as it’s the first coop meeting, I’m unsure of how this is going to go.

• Closing in on completing the plan for our family road trip. Very excited about our possibilities for this fall!

• Took the boys to a movie yesterday. It’s been almost 18 months since we were in a theater. It was a nice excursion. We took advantage of the $2 second run kid’s movie for a cheap morning.

• Time blocking is going well… just need to keep up the routine.

• Day 1 of our fall road trip is planned (well, except for booking the hotel). Making progress!

• Sad that Q broke my pretty beaded bookmark. I can probably fix it, but it’s going to take some ingenuity.
