FF #37: Tea Party Time

This is one of those outfits that I went into thinking something very different. The outcome was a complete surprise. I started with the gorgeous unusual skirt. In trying to find a top that wouldn't completely overwhelm the details of the skirt, I stumbled upon the lace top. Very delicate and yet structured! The addition of the jacket is mainly because I felt that the outfit needed a bit more to try everything together. And the shoes and purse are just classics.

FF #36: Teacher Style

Classic teacher style. I love the basic gray dress with a bit of wing and the timeless mary janes. I had to add this gorgeous blazer (too bad it's so expensive!). FF #35: Inspired by Joan Jett

I love Joan Jett's style. As I was flipping through Polyvore, I snagged on this top and just had to pair it with some faux leather pants and fun accessories. After adding the pants, this outfit screamed Joan Jett to me. So I searched for some 1980s-ish rocker heels, accessories, and a fun coverup (think Pretty in Pink).

FF #34: Pattern Play 2

Another fun pattern play. I saw this skirt and just had to create an outfit around it. But I wanted something quirky and young. I love the basic plaid shirt to give ground the skirt and inject some color. And the boots and tights just scream 1990s to me. I think the grunge of my younger days to coming back to me.

I saw this dress on Polyvore and it just screamed 1950s to me. There's something about the color and the beadwork that reminds of prom dresses of the era. FF #26: Pattern Play

When it comes to outfits, I tend toward one patterned pieces or all solids. I don't usually have the confidence to mix patterns, but I love seeing people who do. This is a much more subdued mix of patterns. The polka dot skirt acts almost as a neutral. I love the contrast to the flowered shirt. Overall, I love this classic bright look.

FF #25: The Rainbow: Violet

My absolute favorite color on or off the rainbow. I love, love, love me some purple, shades from lavender to deep eggplant. Violet is a nice in between color. It goes well with black, but for this outfit, I though I would compliment the violet pieces with brown and nude. This helps the violet pieces stand out. If I was skinnier (i.e. not pregnant) I would definitely consider wearing this outfit. I love the lace detail and the fact that it's partially hidden by the cardigan. And those boots are to die for!

This outfit feels very retro to me like something out of the late 1950s or early 60s. I love the simple lines on the dress paired with the pop of accessories. Overall, green in another color I tend to stay away from. Not really sure why as it's gorgeous. Maybe I'll look for green pieces next time I'm out shopping. Side note: After notating a few weeks ago that I don't wear orange, I ordered more maternity shirts from Old Navy (they were having a sale). Out of the five shirts I bought, four are orange or coral. Guess I'm embracing the color!
