Floral Christmas

I back with actual homemade cards! After months of wanting to make cards, but just not having the motivation or the space, I just didn’t do it. To send out Christmas cards this year, I need to make cards! I got some inspiration and started creating. Just in time to send out cards on time for this year’s Christmas.

This year’s batch of cards are a mix of current and retired Stampin’ Up supplies and some random finds from my stash. I did buy some new Christmas stamps, but I’m using a ton of things I already owned. Today’s card was very simple but classic. I made four different variations of this same design.

  • Cardstock: Flowers for Every Season DSP; Just Jade; Poppy Parade; Whisper White

Sunday Haul #6

I took advantage of the Black Friday sales at my favorite planner sticker shop: Nerd’s the Word! She’s on vacation through the end of the year, but once she re-opens, I’ll be sure to check out the new offerings.

My Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper share came this past week! I love getting all the new papers. Can’t wait to stare at them for forever before actually using them.

December Crafting Goals

dec2.jpg

Almost 6 months have gone by since I updated this blog. Terrible… Life in quarantine got very busy and yet also triggered a depression episode. I’m feeling slightly better and hoping to get back into crafting. I’ve been spending my free time creating homeschool curriculum and reading. My last monthly goal post was from July, so let’s check in there.

  • Make 5 greeting cards (some using Parisian Beauty) - Fail

  • Send out July Birthday cards ✓

  • Finish June Memory Planner Pages ✓

December’s Goals:

  • Finishing making Christmas cards and send them out

  • Finish organizing my new storage area (blog post to come!)

  • Update and organize my master projects list

  • Finish 1-2 months of Memory Planner pages

  • Organize my planner supplies for 2021

2020 Craft Projects Master List Update #1

2020 Craft Projects.png

Something a little different for today. As I’m putting together my new craft/library room (tour once it’s done!), I’ve been trying to mentally organize all the projects that I have started and not finished or not even started at all. So I made a master list for myself! I will be checking in with this list every two months or so. And I’m sure I will be adding to do periodically. My goal is to get 75% of these projects finished by year’s end.

I’m so excited about the amount of progress that I have made in the past two months. I might actually be getting my crafting mojo back!

Abstract Slip

There’s something perfect about a clean and simple card. For this card, I used washi tape to create a mask for my stamped flowers. A simple sentiment, some layered cardstock, and a few rhinestones complete the card.

  • Stamps: Abstract Impressions

  • Ink: Gorgeous Grape; Highland Heather

  • Cardstock: Champagne Foil Sheets; Highland Heather; Whisper White

  • Accessories: Champagne Rhinestones

You're All Heart

I actually made some cards this week! What!?!?!?!

6:22-3.jpg

I finally, finally pulled out and used the Modern Heart Stamp Set (after it’s been retired of course). I love this great geometric heart. Such possibilities! For these cards, I dug through my random DSP scraps to find some fun color combos and patterns and chose two to make cards from. I ended up pulling out a ton of retired colors for the first card. I actually really loved the more subdued color palette on the first card. To finish I added a simple sentiment and some great accessories.

6:22-1.jpg

For the second card, I chose a much brighter color palette. It’s very colorful in person!

6:22-2.jpg
  • Stamps: Modern Heart

  • Ink: Granny Apple Green; Soft Sea Foam; Coastal Cabana; Regal Rose; Pineapple Punch; Gorgeous Grape; Highland Heather; Yoyo Yellow; Melon Mambo; Night of Navy; Not Quite Navy; Tangerine Tango; Ruby Red; Pool Party; Hello Honey

  • Cardstock: How Sweet It Is DSP; Melon Mambo; Smoky Slate; Basic Gray; Whisper White

  • Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequins; Black Rhinestones; Basic Gray Ribbon; Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green Ribbon

  • Tools: Stitched Shapes Framelits
